Position Overview

The SVP, Lead Salesforce Platform Engineer is a senior role responsible for the strategic direction, technical execution, and operational excellence of our entire Salesforce ecosystem. This role is fundamentally about delivery. You will lead a global team of full-time and contract developers to transform complex business requirements into high-quality, scalable, and timely technical solutions across multiple Salesforce orgs.

As a "player-coach," you will set the technical vision and architectural standards while remaining hands-on with the code for our most critical initiatives. You will act as the key bridge between business stakeholders and the technology team, building strong partnerships and ensuring that our Salesforce platform is a powerful engine for business growth and efficiency.

This role is responsible for managing and growing world-class talent, fostering a culture of excellence, and driving towards continued maturity in engineering practices. The platform lead works with system managers and engineers, architects, business analysts and quality assurance engineers in a highly collaborative environment to define product features, provide detailed estimates, support platform best practices, and deliverables.

Success in this role is defined by one primary value: delivery. We need a leader who can cut through ambiguity, eliminate roadblocks, and guide a team to ship high-quality, impactful solutions with speed and predictability.

What You'll Do

Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing, globally distributed team of Salesforce developers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

Define and execute a clear, results-oriented roadmap for the Salesforce platform, ensuring alignment with executive-level business objectives

Establish and ruthlessly enforce best practices for the entire development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, code quality, testing, and CI/CD, with a focus on maximizing team velocity and predictable delivery

Serve as the ultimate technical authority for the Salesforce platform, making critical architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and security across multiple organizations

Build and cultivate deep, trusted relationships with business leaders across Sales, Marketing, Service, and other key departments while acting as a strategic partner to the business, proactively identifying opportunities to leverage the Salesforce platform to solve problems and drive value

Oversee the technical health of all Salesforce instances, including governance, data integrity, and a long-term strategy for organization consolidation and optimization

Develop production application support plans, schedules, and assignments as required. Estimate the level of effort related to technical design, coding, and unit testing

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 7+ years focused specifically on the Salesforce platform.

5+ years in a senior leadership role, managing technical teams, including direct experience managing offshore and contract resources.

Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-org Salesforce projects on time and on budget in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with public speaking and speaking in front of large audiences

Proficiency in a variety of programming related technologies and tools including:

CRM & Platforms: Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Lightning Platform, nCino, Apex, LWC, Aura Components, SOQL, SOSL, Platform Events, API Integration), Salesforce DX

Programming & Frameworks: Apex, C#, ASP.NET (MVC, WebApi), JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, Angular, AJAX, .NET Framework

Database Technology: MSSQL Server, T-SQL

Development Practices & Tools: Agile/Scrum, CI/CD (Gearset, AutoRabit), Git, JIRA, Visual Studio, VS Code, Salesforce DevOps, FFLIB Apex Mocks

Integration Technologies: REST APIs, SOAP APIs

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $141,000.00 - $220,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
