Physician Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Hospital Medicine (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a Hospitalist to join the Department of Internal Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Physician serving as a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine, within the Department of Internal Medicine; directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in an inpatient setting; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical needs; orders procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patient and their families; directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities; serves as preceptor and provides bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, undergraduate & graduate students, nursing staff, and other allied medical professionals; ensures continuing medical education requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.

Hospitalists will provide medical care for patients admitted to the hospital. Types of services include teaching, consultive, continuity, admitting, and overnight. Our hospitalists provide patient care in all of the hospitals within the OSU Health System. Physicians participate in the academic mission through clinical, educational, and research initiatives to improve the care of the inpatient population.
Requirements: Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or equivalent. Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Internal Medicine required; active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required. Completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine required.
