Job Description
Yates Industries is currently looking for a Crate Assembler in our Austell, GA plant to construct custom wooden crates and pallets for shipping, storage, and transportation. This role will require experience with hand and power tools to assemble materials according to specifications and blueprints. This hands-on role demands attention to detail, physical stamina, and knowledge of safety standards and materials to ensure crates provide adequate protection for various items and goods to be shipped.
Responsibilities:
Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials to build crates, pallets, and skids using tools like nail guns, saws, and drills.
Interpret blueprints and customer requirements to design custom crates for specific items.
Move and organize materials, fasteners, and lumber.
Conduct inspections to ensure crates meet safety and performance standards and are suitable for shipping and contain the correct documentation when required.
Perform light maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized for safety.

Required Skills & Knowledge
Tool Proficiency: Experience operating hand and power tools, including nail guns, staple guns, and various saws.
Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, take accurate measurements, and understand carpentry or manufacturing processes.
Attention to Detail: Crucial for accurate assembly and ensuring durability and compliance with shipping standards.
Physical Stamina: The ability to handle physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Safety Awareness: Adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to a safe work environment.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
