Barista & Ice Cream Server – Dessert Café (Richmond, VA)

We are looking for a passionate, customer-focused Barista & Ice Cream Server to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who loves coffee, desserts, and providing an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare & Serve Beverages: Expertly craft and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages.

Ice Cream Service: Scoop and serve ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, and other dessert items while assisting customers with flavor and topping selections.

Customer Engagement: Greet guests warmly, provide menu recommendations, answer questions, and ensure a positive, memorable experience.

Cash Handling & Transactions: Accurately process orders using a point-of-sale system, handle cash and card transactions, and provide correct change.

Café Opening & Closing: Follow opening and closing procedures, including setting up and shutting down equipment, cleaning, and restocking.

Maintain Cleanliness & Organization: Ensure all workstations, equipment, and dining areas are clean, sanitized, and well-stocked throughout shifts.

Inventory & Display Management: Monitor supplies, restock as needed, and keep product displays visually appealing and fresh.

Teamwork & Leadership: Work collaboratively with teammates, support a positive work environment, and assist with training new hires as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

2 years experience as a Barista required.

A love for coffee, ice cream, and desserts and enthusiasm for sharing that passion with customers.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

Availability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and follow food safety protocols.

Reliable transportation to and from work.
