The Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, consistently ranked among the nation's Top 25 hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, is expanding.

We are actively seeking a Vice Chair of Education who is an inspiring and innovative educator, who is aware of the evolving needs of learners in an interdisciplinary environment, and who serves as a role model for lifelong learning. The Vice Chair provides educational and strategic leadership within the Department of Radiology and develops a leading educational program in Radiology at the organizational, regional, and national levels. This dedicated leader will represent the Department’s education mission throughout the medical center and will partner with Department and organizational leadership teams to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for education at all levels.

Department Overview:

The Department of Radiology is rapidly growing, with expanded services at off-site imaging centers, and renovations to our existing clinical spaces and new spaces through the medical center strategic expansion project ($3+ Billion):

Main campus: New construction of a state-of-the-art 830-bed Hospital Tower, a biomedical research tower, and a Health Sciences building that will house the College of Medicine

Around the city: Construction of 2 newly designed ambulatory care centers in New Albany and Dublin are now completed and open and a new outpatient facility set to open in Powell in August 2026, in addition to 16 established ambulatory care centers up and running today.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Working with organizational and Departmental leadership, develop and execute a comprehensive Departmental vision and strategy in education that prioritizes needs, specifies goals, and includes metrics for measuring success. The strategy should drive continuous assessment and improvement of all of our Department’s educational programs.

· Introduce cutting-edge methods for learners at all levels and develop a positive and energetic culture of learning throughout the Department.

· Develop a national network and present Departmental successes and failures at national meetings.

· Provide joint oversight of educational faculty leaders (e.g., Program Directors) together with their clinical supervisors.

· Oversee lecture series, symposia, and Grand Rounds in the Department, working together with relevant stakeholders in the Department.

· Oversee compliance in all educational programs within the Department.

· Develop a strategy to expand fellowship programs throughout the Department, accommodating for the needs of the learners and focusing on addressing the changing landscape in the Radiology workforce.

· Ensure effective communication with and involvement of all faculty/staff within the Department in regard to key decisions and initiatives.

· Partner with other departmental leaders to ensure integration and efficiencies in educational efforts and goals.

· Serve as the primary liaison, in education, between Department of Radiology leadership and College of Medicine leadership.

Requirements:

· MD, DO, or MD/PhD in imaging and/or imaging-related fields.

· Board Certification in Radiology (ABR)

· Fellowship training in subspecialty area

· Demonstrates significant scholarly activity, with an established or developing national reputation in Radiology education.

· Ideally, qualifies for appointment at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level. However, Assistant Professors demonstrating significant scholarly productivity will be considered.

· Demonstrated leadership skills desired.

· Must support and embrace the culture of the Department, the Medical Center and the University.

Compensation Package:

· Salary: Guaranteed Base Salary starting above $420K for Assistant Professor (increasing at higher academic rank), $50,000 Sign-on Bonus, $10,000 Relocation Assistance, eligible for performance bonus and supplemental pay

· Retirement Benefits: 14% Employer match, 25% Department contribution to Executive Retirement Plan, and Supplemental Retirement Accounts 403(b) and 457(b)

· Paid Time Off: 176 Hours of Annual Vacation, 120 hours of Annual Sick Time, 11 Recognized Annual Holidays, 10 CME days and a generous CME Allowance
