Job Title: Controls Software Engineer Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Controls Software Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Columbus, Ohio. This organization is renowned for producing over 750 high-quality generic, specialty, and branded pharmaceutical products relied upon by hospitals, physicians, and pharmacists across North America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.
Responsibilities
Develop technological ideas and guide their development into final products.
Update and maintain complex customized software solutions, databases, and automated tools to enhance operational and engineering efficiencies.
Research new software technologies relative to automation software solutions to improve business and engineering processes.
Lead technical computerized projects involving plan creation, design, specification, installation, startup, and validation of computerized automation systems and upgrades.
Ensure site specifications, standards, and cGMP compliance expectations are met, adhering to good engineering practices.
Run complex group projects with minimal direction, identifying and championing creative and constructive solutions.
Troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems to resolve complex equipment issues.
Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance for maintenance to perform repairs, design changes, or other corrections.
Develop calibration, preventative maintenance, and additional procedures in support of systems and instruments installed.
Identify continuous improvement activities relative to automation control and software systems and champion solutions aligned with site and department metrics, business objectives, and strategy.
Essential Skills
Experience in developing customized automation software solutions using Inductive Automation Ignition, SQL, and server operating systems.
Experience troubleshooting PLCs, specifically in Allen-Bradley systems.
Professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience.
Background in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.69/hr.
