SALARY: Begins at $40,428/Year with comprehensive benefits package

GRADE: 66

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Public Works Department is seeking an individual with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn to join our team in an entry level position in the Water Department. The right candidate will be supported with hands-on learning opportunities for installing, repairing, and replacing damaged or malfunctioning meters and/or meter boxes as necessary.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required; experience reading water meters and recording readings desired. Applicants must have documented experience operating backhoes and/or boring machines as well as a working knowledge of principles, practices, tools, and equipment used in plumbing applications. Valid NC Driver's License required.
