About Us:
OhioMHAS Information Services is the technology arm of the third largest cabinet level agency in the state of Ohio. We develop and support technology for several critical business solutions used by the agency as well as by county and local behavioral health care providers across the state.
What you’ll do at OhioMHAS:
The Epic Analyst – Professional Billing and Claims is responsible for designing, building, optimizing and supporting Epic’s Professional Billing (PB) and Claims modules. You will collaborate with key stakeholders in the revenue cycle, finance, and IT teams to ensure Epic solutions are effectively meeting the agency’s needs and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will directly support streamlined billing processes, accurate claim submission, and improved financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze existing billing and claims workflows and configure Epic PB and Claims modules to support end-to-end revenue cycle function.
• Design, build, test and implement new features, enhancements, and fixes within Epic PB and Claims applications.
• Provide daily system support and issue resolution related to charge capture, claim edits, remittance processing, and denials.
• Participate in Epic version upgrades, regression testing, and change control processes to ensure continued system reliability.
• Ensure all build and processes align with regulatory standards (HIPAA, CMS, etc.)
This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 33 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are 8\:00am to 5\:00pm. This position is located within our Office of Information Services, headquartered at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 33rd floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

Position Qualifications

Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems

12 combined work experience in multiple areas of assigned responsibility (e.g., infrastructure, database administration, software development, business process analysis) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

Additional preferred qualifications:
• Epic Professional Billing certification.
• Understanding of healthcare billing, coding, claims processing and reimbursement workflows.
• Knowledge of payer rules, denial management, and revenue cycle KPIs.
