R77 Elite Talent is partnering with a confidential, multi-site organisation to hire a hands-on Field Service Technician. This is a client-facing, travel-based role focused on deploying and supporting point-of-sale (POS) solutions across customer locations.
The Opportunity
You'll take ownership of installing, configuring, and validating POS solutionscovering both hardware and software so sites go live smoothly and stay stable post-deployment. You'll also guide end-users through essentials and coordinate closely with project and support teams to resolve issues quickly.
What Youll Do
Install, configure and test POS hardware (e.g., terminals, printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners, payment devices) and associated peripherals.
Deploy and configure POS applications on Windows endpoints, applying updates, patches and site-specific settings.
Prepare each site for success: confirm readiness, arrange access, and align installation windows with stakeholders.
Set up basic network services for POS environments (routers/switches, IP addressing, VLANs where applicable, and light cabling).
Execute functional and integration testing to sign off a working, stable solution.
Deliver concise end-user coaching: daily operations, basic troubleshooting, and who to contact for support.
Capture clear documentation: as-built records, configuration baselines, versioning, and client-specific notes.
Triage and resolve installation-related issues on-site or remotely; escalate appropriately with thorough diagnostics.
Maintain tools, test equipment and installation kits to a professional standard.
Collaborate with project managers, support desks and vendors to ensure smooth roll-outs and handovers.
What Youll Bring
Proven experience setting up and supporting end-user hardware/softwareideally within POS environments.
Solid understanding of Windows operating systems and fundamental networking (DHCP/DNS/TCP-IP).
Comfortable reading technical guides, wiring diagrams and implementation runbooks.
Strong communicator with a calm, service-oriented approach in live customer settings.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel between client sites.
Nice to Have
Exposure to leading POS suites (any major retail/hospitality platforms) and payment terminal integration.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ (or equivalent vendor credentials).
Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing platforms (e.g., RMM/PSA).
Background in retail, hospitality or F&B operations.
Fluency in Maltese is an advantage.
Salary: 18,000-24,000
