Job Purpose:
The Assistant Aide cuisinier (Commis) supports the kitchen team by performing essential food preparation tasks and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Working under the supervision of the head chef, the commis plays a key role in ensuring the timely and consistent preparation of quality dishes in line with restaurant standards. This position contributes to the smooth operation of the kitchen and helps deliver a high-quality dining experience to customers by upholding hygiene standards, assisting in plating, and demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow within a professional kitchen setting.
Key duties :
Assist the head chef in preparing and cooking dishes according to our company's recipes and standards.
Ensure that all ingredients are properly measured, portioned, and stored.
Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
Help with food preparation and plating, including cutting, slicing, and garnishing .
Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Follow all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations .
Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience as a commis or assistant aide cuisinier in a professional kitchen .
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A passion for cooking and eagerness to learn and improve.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
School diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification is a plus
Experience in Mediterranean cuisine would be a big plus.
