Planner - Reliability Maintenance
Location:

Schedule:
5x2, 4x3 - 9-hour days (Subject to change based on Company needs)
Job Responsibilities and Duties: The Maintenance Reliability Planner provides the details and resources to ensure safe and efficient execution of maintenance work by line personnel. The Maintenance Reliability Planner works closely with Maintenance General Foreman and Mobile Maintenance Supervisors to ensure accurate resource allocation to maintenance jobs and tasks. The Planner allocates their time to ensure the more complex and/or critical jobs are adequately planned. This individual understands the Work Flow Process and drives continuous improvement efforts relating to the cost and reliability of the assigned fleets.
Key Accountabilities
Promotes a culture with Safety as the foundation
Establish and refine maintenance strategies for the mobile equipment in his/her assigned fleets
Develop, optimize and utilize standard job plans (resources, parts, tooling, task lists) for routine maintenance activities, based on site experience and OEM input, for the mobile equipment in his/her assigned fleets
Ensure that all routine maintenance activities (labor, APL's, SJP's, costs, etc) are uploaded and maintained in JDE Edwards
Create and maintain work orders and requisitions (materials and services) in JD Edwards. Confirms that parts and external resources are available prior to releasing work orders
Work with Parts Coordinator to plan logistics for materials and components in the movement from supply chain receipt to the appropriate shop or work area
Reviews maintenance backlog and identifies work to be accomplished along with PMs and assist in establishing priorities
Identify, capture and analyze condition monitoring data.
Schedule all routine maintenance activities (work orders) in consultation with Operations and Maintenance, including short-term changes to the maintenance schedules based upon Operations, Maintenance and Supply requirements
Provide quality work packs to the Maintenance Supervisors for all planned maintenance activities to ensure quality and efficient work execution. Seek detailed work completion information from the Maintenance Supervisors and resolve any issues as necessary
Provides detailed scope of work for all equipment rebuilds, engineered design modifications, and OEM specification modifications
Resolves complex technical and warranty issues to improve the reliability and maintainability of the fleet
Leads and supports maintenance improvement projects, identifying Defect Elimination opportunities and facilitating RCAs
Develops, analyzes and improves the mobile fleets and supports the Defect Elimination Program using RCA or equivalent methodology
Maintains equipment hierarchy and integrates the maintenance strategies for the fleets. Ensures accurate tracking of primary components
Assists in administrative and budgetary procedures and maintain monthly accruals for assigned fleets
Qualifications and Skills:
Required
Quality Communication: Interacts with a wide variety of departments/roles. Delivers clear and concise information to both maintenance and operations teams
Project Management: Manages major repair projects, maintenance campaigns and weekly scheduled work projects with an emphasis on identifying resources, materials, work quality and managing costs
Time Management: Able to pace own work. Able to work unsupervised. Capable of readjusting priorities when necessary
Team Member/Contributing to Team Success: Able to understand own role and how it contributes to the overall output and objectives of the business
Planning and Organizing: For all planned work, determine resources, materials, tooling, and access to workshop facilities as a core requirement
Focus on Quality: Prepared to challenge the status quo. Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail
Excellent and demonstrated commitment to safety & health, including time interacting with shop personnel
High-quality planning, scheduling, and work pack delivery. Continually refine plan information to improve workflow and work quality
Positive and effective working relationship with Operations, Maintenance and Supply teams. Ensure that Operations has equipment available to meet the mine plan
Maintain good working relationships with external suppliers and contractors
Rigorous cost management; specifically, through optimized maintenance planning, adherence to Supply policy, follow-up on warranty claims and contractor management
Assist in the development of the annual budget for assigned fleets using a zero-based budgeting (ZBB) method as a basis. Provide updated cost information to the appropriate personnel to reforecast the budget as needed
Focus on quality input of maintenance data so that it can be used to drive continuous improvement
Practical experience in a maintenance industry
Experience with computer-based planning/scheduling tools
Preferred
Technical qualification in Maintenance Planning/Asset Management
Fleet management and planning experience in the mining environment
Reliability Centered Maintenance experience
Experience with 5S and Lean Tools
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree related to Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 5 years of equivalent education and practical experience
