Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio, an Affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, empowers the young people who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens by providing high-quality and impactful out-of-school time programming for youth in grades K-12. BGCCO serves 4,000 youth per year throughout Central Ohio.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio operate Clubs in Columbus, Newark, and Marion.

Programs & Strategy

Assist in recruitment and hiring of youth employees.

Conduct Individual Opportunity Plan’s and required CCMEP assessments for each youth worker.

Provide on-going case management and referrals to agencies for each youth worker.

Plan and execute youth training programs in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Plan and schedule company and college visits.

Evaluate each youth worker both pre-and-post employment.

Make weekly visits to job placement locations to ensure that each youth worker is completing assigned work role.

Work collaboratively with a team of Job Coaches to ensure effective and efficient implementation of CCMEP.

Communicate and enforce organization-wide policies, procedures, and standards.

Maintain contact with external groups, schools, parents and others; offers exceptional customer service experience at all times.

Additional Responsibilities

May oversee special programs and/or events put on by youth throughout the summer.

May be required to drive a Club van periodically.

Key Requirements:

Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.

Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Exceptional customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum associate degree, or equivalent of 2-3 years of experience.

Two years of direct youth service experience preferred; demonstrable record of planning and implementing youth programs. Previous experience working with at-risk youth is preferred, as is a background in education. Volunteer service may be substituted on a year-by-year basis.

At least one year of demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience at a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization. Other relevant experience may be considered as a substitute on a year-by-year basis.

Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle report.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office products.

Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents, and community leaders.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and other external sources in a professional manner

Working Conditions

Onsite/in-person at a designated work location.

Position will also on occasion performing the role outside of club facilities including but not limited to, field trips, or other events taking place in a location other than the club.

Dress Code; BGCCO logo wear at all times (t-shirt, polo etc.) Personal appearance reflects reputation, integrity and should be professional and appropriate at all times.

Be on time and be ready to work at the start of your scheduled shift. Reliable and consistent attendance is required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift objects weighing up to 20 lbs./ (Occasionally)

Stand, sit, walk (Frequently)

Operates a computer and other office productivity equipment such as copy machine, computer, printer, timeclock, typing (frequently).

Kneeling, crouching, bending (Frequently).

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (occasionally).
