Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Sign Language Interpreters (SLI) for a full-time onsite position with school districts in the Moncks Corner, SC area. This role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful support to students while working alongside a dedicated educational team.

Requirements:

Must hold an active state certification/licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter in South Carolina

Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher (required)

Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL), with the ability to facilitate communication between students, peers, and staff

Prior experience in school-based interpreting preferred, but not required

Caseload/Details:

Primarily elementary students, with some middle school caseloads

Onsite position only

Collaborative role supporting both students and teachers in classroom environments

Responsibilities Include:

Providing sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation in academic and social settings

Supporting students with classroom learning, social interaction, and school activities

Ensuring effective communication access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students

Collaborating with teachers, staff, and parents to promote inclusive learning environments

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Rate: $44/hr
