Description:
The Purchasing Agent supports the Navy’s Credentialing Programs Office by managing procurement and financial tracking functions for credentialing exams. This position ensures the accurate issuance and reconciliation of exam funding numbers, providing administrative and financial support to the program office.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage credentialing exam funding numbers.
Issue funding numbers to fleet customers and ensure proper authorization.
Track credentialing exam purchases and reconcile usage against allocated funding.
Record and track exam results (pass/fail) as reported by test centers or customers.
Input financial and exam-related data into Navy credentialing databases.
Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate procurement and financial records.
Provide recurring and ad hoc reports to the Navy’s Credentialing Programs Office.Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or higher.
Experience with the Navy’s Credentialing Program or adequate related background (subject to approval by Navy Credentialing Program Manager).
Understanding of civilian credentialing processes and ties to Navy requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of purchasing, procurement, or financial tracking experience (government or DoD environment preferred).
Familiarity with Navy credentialing databases (TWMS, FLTMPS).
Prior military experience.
Ability to work independently and support multiple program initiatives.
