Description
Title: KVCC Student Success Coordinator and Writing Tutor (Part-Time)
Bargaining Unit/Salary Level:
Contracted Professional compensated using the following pay scale based on the highest level of earned credential:
$22.00/hour for bachelor’s degree
$25.00/hour for master’s degree or higher
Length of Time: Academic Year Contract
Job Location: Remote/Virtual
Hours: Will range per student needed and availability, no more than 20 hours per week
Responsibilities:
Co-management of student support services – tracking usage and feedback on student support
Co-supervision of professional and peer tutors
Monitor and provide written feedback of the virtual writing submission process
Provide one-on-one writing tutoring virtually via Zoom for students across disciplines
Assist with writing assignments at any stage of the process, specifically with brainstorming, drafting, revising, structure feedback, grammar/mechanics, and citation (APA or MLA)
Track and document student progress and provide feedback
Collaborate with faculty to understand course content and expectations
Participate in professional development and training sessions
Create and maintain a supportive and positive learning environment
Participate in planning, arranging, and providing student success skills and/or TEAS workshops
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree is preferred
Experience supervising multiple individuals, students included
Previous college-level writing teaching or tutoring experience, including virtual support preferred
Strong technology skills, specifically with Zoom, Microsoft OneDrive, and Calendly

Strong writing and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead groups and work one-on-one with students
Ability to promote a positive and safe learning atmosphere
Good active listening skills
Keen attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
