ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
Check-Mate Manufacturing has openings for an Accounting Assistant. This position is hourly with a range of $15 - 18.00/hour.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The accounting assistant provides administrative support to the accounting department by performing various clerical tasks such as filing, mail handling, records management, handling invoices and tracking expenses for specific projects. Other responsibilities include performing basic journal entries, accounts payable and receivable duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes, but may not be limited to the following
Accounting assistant posts all internal and external bills, ensuring timely payment and prepare weekly AP Aging Reports. (Accounts Payable)
Accounting assistant maintains the billing system, assists with collection efforts when needed, process payments, account reconciliations, and prepare monthly AR Aging Reports. (Accounts Receivable)
Accounting assistant updates financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
Accounting assistant performs basic bookkeeping duties such as inputting basis journal entries weekly.
Accounting assistant provides basic daily and weekly financial reporting.
Accounting assistant assists other members of the Accounting Department.
Accounting assistant liaises and communicates with other departments and ensures an effective interface is achieved (Operations, HR, Quality, Engineering).
Accounting Assistant assists with other accounting projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
H.S. School Diploma or GED
1-3 years’ experience utilizing Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
Completion of basic accounting or finance courses
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail
Good problem solving and time management skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Experience with ERP Systems (PLEX) a plus not required
