ABOUT FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMUNITY BASED CORRECTIONAL FACILITY:

The Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility (CBCF) is a minimum security, American Correctional Association (ACA) accredited, residential prison diversion program for adult male offenders. The Franklin County CBCF is a 180-bed facility that houses adult male offenders (referred to as residents) for a maximum of 180 days. The CBCF believes community safety is of upmost importance. Second is targeting residents criminogenic needs via intense cognitive behavioral programming in an effort to reduce their likelihood of recidivating. Position Summary and Purpose:

Responsible for the overall safety, security, and operation of the facilitys physical plant and grounds. Oversees and provides coordination of the facilitys cleanliness, organization, tool and chemical control, and other facility operations. Responsible for the initial admission process for resident intakes as well as responsible for a timely resident release procedure. Conducts daily facility rounds, zone searches, urine specimen screens, and resident body scans to ensure a safe and secure facility is maintained. Responsible for providing and maintaining proper inventory processes as well as ordering items critical to the facilitys safety, security, and operation. Collects, disburses, and maintains supplies pertaining to all aspects of the facility operations. Oversees the scheduling and monitoring of activities related to facility upkeep, including resident work-crews. Oversees of the facilitys camera, door control, and life safety equipment. Ensures all equipment is functioning as intended and requests the servicing of this equipment when warranted. Responsible for monitoring resident behavior, structured movement, and control of residents and activities in assigned areas. Reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

General Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

Know, adhere to, and ensure the facility is following operational policies and procedures as established by the Governing Board, and appropriate regulatory agencies.

Maintains an atmosphere conducive to agency philosophy and humane treatment conditions. This includes providing positive daily interactions with staff, residents, and CBCF visitors.

Directly responsible for the efficient daily management of resident workers assigned to the Facilities Department. Coordinates, in conjunction with the Facilities Manager, resident work crews, assigns tasks, while maintaining direct oversight of the above-described entities.

Maintain facility compliance with regulatory requirements such as, fire codes, fire suppression systems preventative maintenance, fire extinguisher inspections, domestic boiler temperatures, and other inspection requirements as directed by the Facilities Manager.

Maintain facility compliance with expected standard practices and coordinate said practices. These include but are not limited to, conducting severe weather emergency drills and fire emergency drills.

Conduct security rounds of the internal and external areas of the facility property to ensure that the facility is safe, secure, clean, and in otherwise good repair. Report any subpar findings to the Facilities Manager and assist in the coordination of resolving the findings.

Responsible for the completion of various facility logs.

Ensures that new resident intakes are supplied with all items deemed necessary by the facility, such as clothing, linens, hygiene items and ensures a running inventory of all property supplied to residents and received by residents is held.

Completes urine specimen screens and body scans of residents upon intake. Performs random specimen screens and body scans of current residents according to an established random schedule or as otherwise directed.

Conducts strip searches and unit searches.

Completes resident linen exchange according to an established schedule or as otherwise directed.

Performs all duties associated with weekly resident intakes and releases, ensuring that facility guidelines are consistently met.

Maintains an up-to-date and organized inventory of facility products to include, but not limited to chemicals, resident clothing, hygiene supplies, toiletries, and vending products to ensure maintenance of adequate supply of all products.

Submit requests for purchases and place orders as needed.

Conduct weekly inspections and coordinating regular cleaning of vehicles.

Maintains positive working relationships with various facility departments and vendors.

Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to all information obtained and processed in the operation of the CBCF program.

Attends and participates in scheduled meetings with agency staff and leadership.

Other Job Requirements:

Completes a minimum of forty (40) hours of training per year to include at least (24) hours of changing offender behavior (COB). Participates in seminars and continuing education programs when appropriate and feasible.

Completes educational/training hours that may be required to maintain certification, if applicable.

Work overtime as needed.

Perform all other duties or coverage as assigned to meet facility need.

Maintain valid Ohio drivers license.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

Highschool diploma or GED

Associates degree in the Criminal Justice field or other related field preferred.

Two (2) years of correctional experience preferred.

One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
