We are working with one of the world's most successful distributors of semiconductor products and related services, assisting them in their search for an Application Support Consultant to support the day-to-day activities of their new distribution centre, due to go live this year!
This €250m Distribution Centre is managed by a bespoke SAP EWM System and is the next generation of warehouse management and operations. This business is also an S&P 500-listed group, with employees in 70 countries that set new standards every day in terms of innovation and quality, having been established in this market for 100 years.
This role will be part of the local IT support team, responsible for running the application landscape of the Bernburg site, monitoring and troubleshooting.
What you'll be doing:
Support the Logistics operational shifts.
Technical monitoring of all application interfaces and of the warehouse management system-related alerts, errors, and KPIs.
Extracting reports and preparing specific analyses.
Work with an IT ticket system, documenting incidents and enhancements.
Analysis of incoming incidents and assignment to the responsible party.
Classifying an incident by looking at severity, impact, dependencies, incident types, etc.
Analysis of the root cause of an incident, considering master data, WMS documents, customising/coding, operational data, etc., in alignment with all involved stakeholders.
Evaluation and implementation of workarounds and ad-hoc support to the Logistics team.
Escalation of incidents if they represent a threat to the operations.
Interface to the 3rd Level Support and the application development team.
Interface to SAP Cloud Support team, in-house IT Infrastructure teams and other application teams like SAP-ERP, SAP-MES, SAP-GTS, etc.
What we're looking for:
Multi-year experience in SAP EWM application support or any other modern warehouse management system.
Deep knowledge of SAP EWM core functionality and customisation.
A sound understanding of the Material Flow System within SAP EWM.
Very good understanding of end-to-end Logistics business processes.
Very good understanding of Logistics application environments, including the IT Infrastructure setup as well as the up and downstream system integration.
Experience in cross-department/cross-system root cause analysis and defining workaround solutions.
Experience with material flow-related process know-how and applications.
Know-how of defining functional design specifications for enhancements.
Strong analytical skills.
Structured working methods and ability to work independently with personal responsibility and a proactive approach.
Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English and have at least basic German language skills.
