We are a growing public accounting firm looking for a high performing, experienced accountant to join our Client Accounting Services team as a Senior Staff Accountant. The CAS Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for providing high-quality, complex outsourced accounting services to multiple clients across various industries. This includes handling day-to-day accounting functions for our large and more complex clients, preparing financial statements on both accrual and cash basis, managing multiple client relationships and supporting our junior accountants with your experience and time. The ideal candidate has deep but broad practical accounting skills, is detail-oriented, client-focused, a strong multi-tasker and a lifelong learner.
General Responsibilities – here’s what you’d do everyday
· Perform full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting for multiple, complex clients
· Help support a team of 3-5 junior accountants with your experience and time
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
· Review monthly and quarterly sales tax filings
· Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner; be the go-to contact for your assigned clients
· Assist the Director with WIP management, team training and client management
· Assist with assessing potential new client needs, onboarding of new clients and setup and troubleshooting of client accounting systems
Job Qualifications – These are the skills we’re looking for
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA eligible preferred
· 4-6 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferably handling multiple sets of books simultaneously
· Above average proficiency with technology and software (e.g., QuickBooks, CCH, etc.)
· Excellent communication and organizational skills;
· Ability to establish, iterate and follow processes and systems to maximize time efficiency and work quality
· Super strong multi-tasker with ability to manage multiple clients and junior accountants while meeting deadlines simultaneously
· Superior attention to detail, strong analytical abilities and highly motivated to solve problems and fix issues
· Must have a “kaizen” mentality – always seeking to keep learning and doing better
