What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the 2nd Shift Sinker EDM Machine Operator is responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the various parts and equipment that they may be required to run. In addition, operators are required to load/unload parts, inspect parts using various precision measuring tools, accept or reject parts, and communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing.

Operation of traditional oil/or deep tank/or multi-axis CNC electrical discharge machining (EDM), aka Sinker EDM.

Set up and operate machines, load/unload parts, and communicate changes and results (in writing and verbally) while adhering to a strict schedule.

Demonstrate ability to read prints, inspect parts using precision gages.

Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

Good mechanical aptitude and some "shop math" is required.

Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards.

Maintains specifications; takes measurements; detects malfunctions; troubleshoots processes; adjusts and reprograms controls; sharpens and replaces worn tools; and adheres to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintains equipment by adhering to maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

Exceptional time management and or organization skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required

Previous Sinker EDM experience

Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment is required

Troubleshooting / critical thinking skills / basic mechanical skills

Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. person

Physical Conditions/Demands:

Lift, push, and/or pull 35 pounds

Stand at least 95% of the scheduled shift

Specific vision abilities include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (corrected) required with the ability to pass the annual vision test as required.

Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials.

Operate the overhead crane when necessary.

Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation.

Shift: Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. This hourly position has a generous shift differential and a comprehensive benefits package to support your well-being and success!
