Your Role

As an Senior Architectural Design Engineer at Encore Luxury Coaches, you will play a critical role in the design and engineering of cabinetry, interiors, and architectural layouts that maximize luxury, space, and function within our entertainer coaches. You will combine space planning, cabinetry engineering, CNC-driven design, BOM management, and assembly documentation to deliver interiors that reflect Encores reputation for quality and precision.

In this role, you will take on advanced engineering projects, mentor junior designers, and collaborate closely with production teams, ensuring designs are both manufacturable and innovative. You will work at the intersection of creativity and manufacturing, translating client visions into build-ready designs while supporting production efficiency and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Cabinetry & Interiors: Architect, engineer, and document custom cabinetry, millwork, and storage solutions to luxury residential standards.

Architectural Space Planning: Develop and refine interior layouts that maximize comfort, flow, and functionality inside the coach.

CNC Engineering: Generate CNC-ready models and toolpaths using Fusion 360 or equivalent software, including post-processing for router fabrication.

Bill of Materials (BOMs): Create and manage complete BOMs for cabinetry and interior assemblies with accuracy and consistency.

Assembly Documentation: Produce detailed assembly drawings, exploded views, and installation guides to support efficient production.

Design Integration: Ensure cabinetry and layouts integrate seamlessly with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems.

Prototype & Validation: Support prototyping and first installations, validating design effectiveness in a production/manufacturing environment.

Production Collaboration: Partner with technicians, craftsmen, and shop-floor staff to ensure manufacturability, precision, and finishing quality.

Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior engineers and designers, helping elevate design and engineering standards across the team.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, workflows, and design efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Industrial Design, or related Engineering field.

8+ years of experience in cabinetry, architectural interiors, or custom engineering roles.

Proven experience working in a production or manufacturing environment, collaborating directly with technicians and craftsmen.

Proficiency in 3D CAD and CAM software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).

Hands-on expertise with CNC router programming, post-processing, and toolpath optimization.

Demonstrated ability to create and manage BOMs and assembly drawings for complex cabinetry or interiors.

Strong knowledge of cabinetry construction methods, joinery, tolerances, and luxury finishing techniques.

Ability to translate conceptual design into manufacturable, CNC-ready outputs.

Nice to Haves

Experience in luxury residential, yacht, aviation, or RV cabinetry/interiors.

Familiarity with Autodesk Vault, Revit, or BIM tools.

Knowledge of woodworking machinery and millwork best practices.

Background in lean manufacturing or production process optimization.
