Pendant Crane Operator

We are looking for a Pendant Crane Operator to safely move steel sheets, plates, scrap bins, and other materials through the plant using a pendant crane. This role is ideal for someone experienced, safety-conscious, and reliable.

Responsibilities:

Inspect crane daily and sign inspection sheet at the start of shift.

Stay aware of surroundings and prioritize pedestrian safety.

Follow supervisor’s instructions and interpret work orders accurately.

Safely operate the crane, sheet-lifter, and cables.

Supply shears with material and move finished products to staging areas.

Load and unload trucks; handle transfer carts and conveyors.

Maintain organized, efficient, and safe inventory.

Monitor material quality, counts, and tagging; ensure compliance with work/sales orders.

Support team for smooth operations, preventing delays and hazards.

Report equipment issues immediately; ensure preventive maintenance is done.

Keep work area clean and safe.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Reliable, regular attendance.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Able to use and read measuring tools: tape, micrometer, Rockwell tester.

Basic Excel skills for data entry and searching information.

Ability to calculate steel weights.

Knowledge of steel types, sizes, thickness, and defects.

Understand quality control: tolerances, surface defects, burrs, camber, and shape.
