Description:

SAP Payroll Officer

About the role

We’re looking for a full-time Payroll Officer to join our Payroll Data Management team of 9, based at our North Sydney head office. This role is available because one of our long-standing team members is retiring, providing an opportunity to step into a stable role in a supportive and collaborative team.

You’ll be part of a larger payroll team of 24, split into Data Management, Payroll Processing, and Payroll Accounting, all working to deliver accurate and compliant payroll services.

In this role, you’ll use SAP S/4 HANA, Concur, Navigo, and ServiceNow to manage workforce master data to encompass all personal and payroll-related information for employees. UGL’s workforce includes over 90 Enterprise Agreements, with complex conditions to include site allowances, shift work, FIFO, tools and equipment, First Aid, LAFHA, and client-specific agreements.

With multiple weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls, you’ll ensure employees are set up correctly and ready to be paid, while resolving payroll queries through ServiceNow. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment within a large, diverse organisation.

Key responsibilities

Review and validate employment conditions and manage employee data for new hires, rehires, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, wage changes, allowances, deductions, superannuation, personal data updates, and employee benefits.

Conduct weekly, fortnightly and monthly compliance audit reports to proactively identify and resolve errors.

EBA interpretation to maintain compliance with over 90 Enterprise Agreements (and growing!).

Manage ServiceNow tickets and inquiries from stakeholders, collaborating with internal P&C teams to resolve issues.

About you

Experience in high-volume payroll operations using SAP.

Strong understanding of multiple EBA’s and their complexities.

Excel (intermediate to advanced skills).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to escalate issues and advise stakeholders on complex matters.

Please note that relevant screening checks will be conducted as part of the recruitment process. These may include a national criminal history check and for you to complete a pre-employment questionnaire.
