Summary LesserEvil, a growing snack food manufacturing company, is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to perform all aspects of maintenance on the equipment to include but not limited to preventative, predictive, emergency, routine, and continuous improvement.
The candidate must be able to diagnose, assess, and correct a problem.
Candidates must take ownership and oversee all of the equipment in the manufacturing area to include but not limited to: daily inspections, preventative maintenance, lubrication, repair, continuous improvement, and operation.

This individual will report to the Maintenance Manager.
In the absence of a Maintenance Manager this individual will report to the Director, Operations + Food Safety.
Position ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.Perform equipment start-ups, repairs, and overhauls.Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use or to analyze malfunctions.Troubleshooting live equipment during your scheduled shiftRepairing or adjusting equipment, machines, or defective components, replacing worn parts, such as gaskets or seals in manufacturing equipment.Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.Inventorying all tools including implementation of a checkout procedure to account for tools, lubricants, and other items.Maintain machine & equipment manuals and create basic troubleshooting guidelines for use in daily operation.Following all policies on safety standards and protocol for all equipment.Assist in the maintenance of the company’s fleet of PIT’s (Power Industrial Trucks) including routine maintenance, emergency maintenance, and repair.Performs other related duties as assigned and special projects as designated.
Position QualificationsHigh School degree or equivalent work experience2+ years experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a manufacturing or food manufacturing environmentTroubleshooting and problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose problems and recommend solutions.Knowledge of safety procedures applicable to the working environment.Ability to analyze mechanical problems and carry out effective plans for repair.Ability to communicate technical information both in writing and verbally.Ability to learn operating procedures for equipment.Ability to conduct basic maintenance on equipment with a fair amount of technical skills.Ability to make decisions based on real-time to solve issues with the least amount of downtime.Ability to communicate with management & employees in addressing equipment issues.
Working ConditionsMeeting standards of GMP/SQFAble to work safely in loud, automated machine intense areas.Able to work in conditions that may be loud, wet, and/or dusty from airborne particlesAble to work in conditions with unregulated/varying temperaturesAble to work in conditions where floors may be slippery due to environmental hazards (ex.
raw materials overflow, splashing of water in sanitation area, etc.)Able to work in conditions where PPE may be required (Respirator, face mask, etc.)Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching or climbing.Climbing ladders and/or stairs.Comfortable working from a mezzanine with active machineryMandatory overtime based on business needsOperating machinery and/or power tools.
Physical RequirementsAble to lift at least 50 lbs.Able to bend, lift, pull, and pushAble to drive a forklift.Certification is a plus.
