Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management / APQP
Quoting / Estimating of added value services (sawing, thermal cutting, welding, press brake, assemblies).
Interaction with customer buyer / engineer to resolve quote questions.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Working Conditions:
Office cubicle setting in Sales Department. 40 hours per week with overtime when needed. Working conditions may consist of repetitive motions. Physical requirements include continual sitting and some standing, walking, climbing, lifting, and twisting with periodic bending. The ability to walk, talk, listen and the use of the hands is required of the employee on a daily basis.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
Previous sales experience required. 2-3 years preferred with a metals background.
Nesting/ CAD experience helpful
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
Fabrication Drawing / BOM interpretation
Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
AS400 computer experience helpful
Understand / ability to learn added value processes (sawing, thermal cutting, welding, press brake, assemblies).
Ability to communicate effectively with customer contacts / outside vendors / management
The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Flexibility and the ability to prioritize.
Knowledge of general shop procedures and rules including safety precautions.
Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work as part of a production team.

Skills:
The required skills enable the candidate to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications, which is essential for producing precise cost estimates. Proficiency with estimation software and Microsoft Office tools facilitates efficient data analysis and documentation, supporting timely and organized bid submissions. Strong communication skills are used daily to liaise between clients, sales teams, and production staff, ensuring alignment and clarity throughout the project lifecycle. Preferred skills such as ERP and CAD software knowledge enhance the ability to integrate estimating processes with production planning and design workflows. Additionally, negotiation and project management skills help in managing client expectations and coordinating complex projects to successful completion.
