We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team in Romulus, Michigan. This contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee procurement activities, build vendor relationships, and manage inventory processes. Responsibilities:
• Oversee the procurement of materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing to meet project needs.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.
• Manage inventory processes, including tracking, planning, and reconciliation, to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Utilize NetSuite or similar enterprise systems to administer purchasing and inventory data effectively.
• Collaborate with architects and project managers to source materials based on project specifications.
• Implement and refine sourcing processes to optimize vendor selection and cost savings.
• Lead the loading and organization of part numbers into inventory and purchasing systems.
• Monitor and enforce inventory controls to maintain operational efficiency.
• Provide leadership and guidance to purchasing team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and efficiency.
• Stay informed about industry trends, particularly within the construction sector, to enhance sourcing strategies.• Proven experience in purchasing management, including procurement and vendor relations.
• Familiarity with inventory software and systems such as NetSuite or comparable platforms.
• Strong knowledge of inventory controls, planning, and reconciliation processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sourcing and procurement for complex projects.
• Previous leadership experience in purchasing or related roles.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
• Experience in the construction industry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project needs.
