Serves as an academic advisor and assists students with planning and registration as well as related Student Affairs initiatives. This position will be located on the Worthington Atlantic City Campus
Examples of Duties
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides academic advisement and registration assistance to new and returning students, including providing assistance with career and transfer planning individually and in group settings
Responds to inquiries regarding advising, registration and retention efforts
Prepares assessment reports in collaboration with Institutional Research
Leads in the development of programming and support services
Collaborates with external organizations in providing resources
Coordinates and schedules academic success workshops
Processes cancelled courses as directed
Processes Early Alert and Academic Probation referrals
Maintains files and performs clerical functions
Provides program support and academic advisement at participating high schools during the Jump Start Program
Monitors the Wait List and added classes
Facilitates workshops on generic topics to enhance student success, including career workshops
Provides support for Student Affairs sponsored events
Performs related duties as assigned
Program Duties:
Provide strategic academic advising and guidance to diverse student populations— including new, returning, stop-out, and special populations—to support retention, persistence, and timely completion.
Serve as an enrollment navigator, connecting students with appropriate college resources and services to address academic, financial, and personal challenges impacting success.
Develop and implement proactive advising strategies using data and technology to identify and support at-risk students, ensuring alignment with institutional retention and completion goals.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to deliver coordinated, student-centered support that fosters engagement, progress, and achievement.
Typical Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree Experience:
Higher Education employment experience preferred
Experience working with Ellucian’s Colleague management information system preferred Competencies and Skills:
Strong communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint and Excel
Ability to thrive in a team environment

This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
