The Senior Frontend Engineer leads the design and delivery of intuitive user interfaces for our precision instruments. You'll translate UX requirements into high-quality, responsive screens, mentor junior UI developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure front-end components integrate seamlessly with backend services and testing frameworks. Continuous improvement of UI practices and adherence to usability standards are essential.
The Impact You'll Make:
The Senior Frontend Engineer owns the end-to-end implementation of user interfaces:
UI Architecture & Strategy: Define and maintain component libraries, style guidelines, and front-end patterns to ensure consistency across desktop and embedded platforms.
Feature Development: Translate design mockups and wireframes into polished, performant UI components, ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, and usability.
Mentorship & Code Quality: Coach and review the work of UI developers; enforce front-end coding standards, conduct peer reviews, and promote best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with System Architects, Backend and Firmware teams, and Test Engineers to validate data bindings, performance characteristics, and testability of UI modules.
International Collaboration: Partner with the Design/UIX team at our Austrian HQ to incorporate their UX insights and ensure consistent, user-centered interfaces across all products.
Testing & Validation Support: Define UI-specific test cases, assist in the creation of automated UI tests, and support manual verification of complex user flows.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Analyze UI performance metrics and user feedback; implement optimizations to improve load times, rendering speed, and overall user experience.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear UI design specifications, component usage guides, and style-guide documentation; share learnings in team forums. Education and Experience
The Senior Frontend Engineer typically needs a combination of education, training, and hands-on experience. This role requires the following:
BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience
8+ years of professional experience in front-end development or UI engineering
5+ years of professional experience in .NET/C# development
Experience with modern UI frameworks (e.g. Blazor or similar component-based technologies)
Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.) and CI/CD pipelines Preferred skills include:
Hands-on experience with WPF/XAML
Hands-on experience with C++/Qt
MS in Computer Science, or related field
Proficiency with design tools such as Figma or Sketch
Experience with UI test frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent)
Prior work in scientific instrumentation or precision measurement domains Competencies

This role is an independent contributor who is a member of multiple teams, and does not have any direct supervision of staff.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, observe, communicate and handle items such as computers, machinery and other equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Position requires the ability to obtain a Passport for international travel.
