Physical Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Install and terminate Cat6 and composite low-voltage cabling for security systems.

Mount and configure Verkada access control panels, cameras, intercoms, and alarm systems.

Perform RS485 terminations, reprogram IN-100, IN220, and AD400 wireless locks.

Install LifeSafety & other power supplies and complete low-voltage power terminations.

Coordinate with general contractors and site stakeholders in a professional, clean, and safety-conscious manner.

Perform remote commissioning and system configuration (up to 30% of your time may be spent working from home).

Follow all job site and OSHA requirements for commercial construction environments.

Maintain organized and detailed documentation of installations, testing, and punch lists.

Submit daily job reports and collaborate with PMs on progress tracking and issue resolution.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 3+ years of experience with low voltage systems in commercial environments.

Background in Verkada, Lenel, Assa Abloy, Mercury, or similar systems highly preferred.

Hands-on with PoE devices, RS485, door contacts, maglocks, strikes, and composite cabling.

Comfortable reading schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

Strong troubleshooting and system validation skills-both in the field and remotely.

Tech-savvy with the ability to work in Verkada Command or similar cloud-based platforms.

Excellent communication and organizational habits.

OSHA certifications preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Any access control certifications

Manufacturer training in Lenel, Assa Abloy, or Mercury systems

Familiarity with commercial construction protocols and tools

Work Schedule & Pay

100% Commercial Work (multi-building campuses, industrial and healthcare sites)

Full-time: 40 hours/week;

Mix of fieldwork (up to 70%) and remote configuration (up to 30%)

Use of ladders, lifts, confined spaces, and active job sites is required
