CNC Machinist

Job Description

Compensation DOE: Up to $30/hr

1st Shift: 7:30 pm to 4:00 pm

Our client, a leading manufacturer in precision machining, is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their Indianapolis, IN team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented machinist with experience operating 5-axis gantry machines, reading blueprints, and maintaining high-quality production standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do as a CNC Machinist:

As a CNC Machinist, you’ll set up and operate a variety of automatic and semiautomatic CNC machines while ensuring safe operation, quality output, and adherence to work order requirements. You will play a vital role in maintaining smooth production flow and supporting the team in meeting customer demands.

CNC Machinist I Duties Include:

Operating 5-axis gantry CNC machines

Verifying lubricants, tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job

Monitoring machines for safe operation and producing quality parts

Adjusting machines for dimensional accuracy and deburring parts during production

Reading and interpreting production drawings, travelers, and critical characteristics

Measuring and recording part dimensions using micrometers and calipers

Reporting machine malfunctions or safety hazards promptly

Following all safety codes, policies, and emergency procedures

Performing additional duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

High School Diploma/GED or relevant certifications

1+ year of CNC machining experience or equivalent vocational training/apprenticeship

Hands-on experience in specialized machine operations

Familiarity with Fanuc controls

Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and follow detailed work instructions

Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude

Team-oriented work ethic with effective communication skills
