As a Pediatric Profee Coding Consultant, you will play a vital role in enhancing medical coding practices. Your consulting expertise and educational support will guide healthcare professionals to improve coding accuracy and compliance. Collaborating with key stakeholders, your insights will help us deliver exceptional service and quality in both hospital and alternative care settings.

*Candidates must possess extensive Pediatric Profee experience in general surgery, ENT, and orthopedics*

Key Responsibilities:

Review medical records meticulously and assign accurate codes that reflect client needs (CPT, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10 procedures, ICD-10 PCS, HCPCS).

Conduct thorough data quality reviews to ensure compliance with coding and documentation guidelines.

Engage in professional communication with team members, management, and hospital staff regarding clinical and reimbursement matters.

Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Identify areas for documentation improvement and coding discrepancies.

Utilize VPN access for effective and flexible task execution.

Promote a culture of compliance and operational efficiency in alignment with Datavant and HIM Division policies.

Maintain professional development by tracking continuing education credits.

Participate in mandatory in-service and educational meetings to stay aligned with industry best practices.

Abide by the American Health Information Management Association's code of ethics to uphold professional integrity.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of profee coding experience.

AHIMA credentialing (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC certification (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC, or CRC) is required.

Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities combined with remote work efficiency and time management skills.

Proficiency in computerized encoding and abstracting software.

Must complete annual Introductory HIPAA examination and other designated assessments.
