REPORTS TO: Director of Pupil Services JOB MISSION: To provide targeted assistance to students PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

1.

Provide direct physical therapy as prescribed by the student's IEP.

2.

Evaluate referred students regarding physical needs.

3.

Write physical therapy objectives for student's physical therapy needs in clear concise measurable language.

4.

Provide consultation and modeling to classroom staff regarding physical therapy interventions.

5.

Develop and demonstrate home programs when necessary.

Instruct parents in follow-through programs when appropriate.

6.

Maintain regular and ongoing communication with teacher(s) and other pertinent school staff (PTA) to insure optimum physical therapy.

7.

Maintain ongoing data-based records on student's progress.

8.

Participate as a member of the child evaluation team for assigned students.

9.

Attend and participate in staff meetings.

10.

Provide support and supervision to the PT assistant.

11.

Travel in the district between schools may be required.

*NOTE: Includes summer school PTA supervision sessions, scheduled for approximately five weeks (approx.

one-time per week)--from the first Monday after the Fourth of July through the first week of August.
