Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer I to join our team in Seattle, Washington. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in developing, maintaining, and optimizing network communications to ensure seamless connectivity and performance. Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and implementation of internal and external network systems to support organizational needs.

• Perform testing and evaluation of network systems to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal functionality.

• Troubleshoot routing, switching, and link-related problems to maintain stable and reliable network operations.

• Collaborate with team members to improve network configurations and make necessary enhancements.

• Utilize knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and WAN technologies to optimize network performance.

• Work with Arista systems and other networking tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

• Apply creativity and judgment to develop solutions to network challenges and contribute to continuous improvement.

• Monitor network systems to proactively address potential issues and maintain high availability.

• Document procedures and configurations to ensure consistency and facilitate knowledge sharing.

• Report progress and findings to supervisors while adhering to project timelines and objectives.• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Computer Science or Information Technology.

• 2-5 years of experience in network engineering or a related area.

• Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols, including practical experience with troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with WAN technologies and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).

• Experience with Arista systems is preferred but not required.

• Ability to plan and execute tasks under general supervision while demonstrating creativity and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and report findings.

• Knowledge of standard practices and procedures in network engineering.
