We are seeking a seasoned Controller to take charge of financial operations for a dynamic portfolio of companies. This leadership role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in accounting, finance, and real estate, who excels in a high-energy, collaborative environment. The Controller will play a vital role in optimizing financial systems, maintaining operational excellence, and driving the organization’s ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the accounting functions .

Lead, mentor, and guide a team of property accountants and accounting managers, fostering growth and development.

Collaborate closely with the Director of Accounting Operations to ensure efficient management of accounts payable processes.

Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes for both owned and managed properties.

Review and approve complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Enhance internal controls and implement industry best practices for financial systems and procedures.

Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for stakeholders, including property owners and investment partners.

Provide training and support to property management teams, improving their understanding of accounting processes and procedures.

Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze property performance, informing budgeting and operational strategies.

Manage cash flow across the portfolio, ensuring adequate resources for day-to-day operations and debt obligations.

• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to drive process improvements and implement organizational changes.

• Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and compliance standards.

• Familiarity with financial management systems, preferably Yardi or RealPage.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.

• At least 3 years of leadership experience within real estate or related sectors.
