Project Engineer

Geotechnical Consultants Inc. (GCI) is a 46 year-old civil engineering company specializing in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, field and construction services, special inspections, and steel testing throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. We are seeking a full-time Project Engineer in the Columbus, OH area.

Qualifications/Responsibilities

• Masters Degree in Civil Engineering (MSCE) from an accredited institution

• Professional Engineer Certification preferred

• 5 years of work experience in Geotechnical field

• Preparing subsurface exploration and associated cost estimates

• Preparing drilling program once proposals are executed

• Classifying retrieved soil/rock samples and preparing boring logs in Gint format

• Analysis of findings and (as appropriate) assessment and design of shallow and deep foundations, retraining walls, pavements, slope stability, etc.

• Preparing Subsurface Exploration Report

• Detail orientated and self-motivated

• Project management of multiple field jobs once the geotechnical study transitions into construction

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Good communication and client relation skills

• Willing to perform field inspection and testing services as needed and attend kick-off meetings
