Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Tooling Engineer with strong mold development expertise and design skills to join our engineering team.

This role will focus on the development, optimization, and lifecycle management of injection molds, with the ability to contribute to design review and basic mold design activities.

The ideal candidate will work closely with customers, tooling vendors, and internal teams to ensure tooling projects meet performance, cost and delivery targets.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary at any time.Lead tooling development projects from concept to production, ensuring compliance with technical and quality standards.Collaborate with design teams to review mold designs and suggest improvements for manufacturability and cost efficiency.Oversee vendor tooling activities, including RFQs, quotation analysis, and supplier selection.Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, production, procurement) to meet project milestones.Manage tooling trials, mold qualifications, and process validations.Coordinate tooling repairs, modifications, and engineering changes.Maintain and manage the database of approved onshore and offshore toolmaking vendors.Provide design solutions to support internal tooling modifications, repairs, or enhancements.Provide technical support for production teams during mold start-up and troubleshooting.Ensure proper documentation and tracking of tooling specifications, modifications, and maintenance history.Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling performance and cost optimization.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Technology, or equivalent technical background.Minimum [3–5] years of experience in injection molding engineering with a focus on tooling development.Solid knowledge of mold construction, tooling materials, and injection molding processes.Moderate experience in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) for design review and basic mold design tasks.Familiarity with mold flow analysis, GD&T, and design for manufacturability principles.Strong project management and vendor coordination skills.Effective communication skills for customer and supplier interaction.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
