Shift Rotation: 7a - 3p / 3p - 11p / 11p - 7a
Start Date: ASAP
Requirements: Have 1+ years of recent direct patient care experience; behavioral or mental health experience.
License requirement: BLS

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Behavior Technician. The Behavior Technician works to facilitate educational and behavioral services with children and adults with special needs. The Behavior Technician collaborates with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows the instructions of the BCBA/program supervisor/teacher
Provides behavior assistance/interventions to assigned clients
Performs ABA related teaching strategies
Provides behavior support services
Provides crisis intervention
Review and Implement behavior intervention plans
Review and implement behavioral goals found within IEPs
Documents session per policies and procedures
Collects data accurately and efficiently
Strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements
Assist students in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene.
Implement behavior management techniques in accordance with the directions given by the supervising teacher; including reinforcing appropriate behaviors in accordance with the teachers plan and supervising the student during these behavior management techniques
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in relevant field or Hands on experience working with similar population
Two (2) years relevant experience preferred
Current CPR certification
Current PPD or Chest X-Ray (as applicable per state and/or client requirement)
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills

Job Description
As a Mental Health Technician I, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting residents through the entire treatment experience from admission through discharge. You will work daily with our clients and be responsible for:

Role-modeling appropriate and supportive behavior based on your training and experience
Supporting our clients in their journey to a healthier and more productive life The MH Technician team is available to our clients on a twenty-four hour basis. MH Technician I are often part of the client’s major support system, and as such, derive great satisfaction from making a powerful difference in their lives. MH Technician I manage crisis situations such as food refusal, emotional breakdowns and more. Discovery Mood & Anxiety is open to ideas for connecting with our clients in new and innovative ways. MH Technician I are empowered to be creative in their approach as personal strengths, skills and passions (e.g. yoga, art, hobbies...) may be integrated into our program.
Responsibilities
Greeting new clients and introducing them to their primary treatment team
Determining whether the new client has any special needs, communicating those needs to the treatment team and assisting in making sure the needs are met
Contributing to the well-being of all clients by serving as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate dress, grooming, communication and positive behavior in a professional, warm and caring manner
Facilitating the treatment plan set forth by the Therapist by providing day-to-day support
Engaging clients in therapeutic groups to promote coping skills, relapse prevention, DBT, education and life skills
Participating in a weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting
Sharing vital information of the client’s progress with the treatment team
Understanding and maintaining the confidential nature of all client and program related activities
Eating together during meal times to model positive dietary behaviors
Maintaining an inviting environment by ensuring the house is tidy and clean at all times
Assisting Therapists in the discharge process by helping the client transition home
Attending all training, education and staff enrichment activities; being familiar with the Philosophy, Mission and Objectives of Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program We have both part-time and full-time positions available at our Dade City, FL residential program . Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or
One year experience working with adolescents, preferred in mental health/eating disorder counseling setting
Must attend all training, education, and staff enrichment activities
Must possess a current Driver’s License in good standing Additional Information
