The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic Occupational Health physician to join the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

Position Overview

The Ohio State University (OSU) is seeking a full-time Occupational Health Medical Physician to provide medical oversight and care at our Occupational Medicine and Occupational Health and Wellness Clinics in McCampbell Hall. This position is responsible for assisting in delivering, overseeing, and supervising medical care for all OSU employees in support of the Service. Support collaboration with nursing leadership, hospital administrative leadership, and other leadership as appropriate to provide operational management, financial management, and leadership functions within the Service. Provide clinical and administrative support for all of OSUs occupational health-related clinical policies, programs, and outcomes to meet OSUs and other regulatory agencies workforce requirements. The successful candidate will assist clinically and administratively with the service in strategic planning related to departmental scope, services, policy procedures, and performance improvement for OM/OHW services.

The Department of Family and Community Medicine is home to 83 faculty members, six fellows, and 27 residents; however, we continue to grow annually. Our diverse departments include sports medicine, occupational medicine, integrative medicine, behavioral health, health service researchers, and family medicine. Additionally, we have two residency program sites with faculty who cover inpatient service at University Hospital East, prenatal and maternity care, delivery, and geriatrics services. Our faculty is involved in medical student education through practicum lectures and rotations through the clinics. Our family medicine practices are part of Comprehensive Primary Care Plus through the Center for Medicare and Medicaid. Additionally, our family medicine practices are staffed with dieticians, behavioral health specialists, social workers, pharmacists, medical assistants, and nurses as part of the team. Requirements

A physician in good standing as a member of the attending or courtesy Medical Staff of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC).

Board Certified in Occupational Medicine highly preferred or currently board certified in their specialty with most recent duties dedicated to occupational health and/or a highly regulated field of employment

Demonstrable experience working within an occupational health/university/academic medical center/appropriate corporate clinical setting.

Obtained or willing to attain (and maintain) in a time set by the Medical Director the following certifications as required by the Medical Director: DOT/FMCSA CME, MRO certification, Ohio BWC certified physician, USCIS designated Civil Surgeon, FAA AME, or any other certifications as required by future Service needs.

Eligible for an Ohio license

Qualify for an academic appointment - Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience

Faculty Defined

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.

Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.?

Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years. Their principal career focus is research.
