The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location.

Location: Barnstable, MA

Salary range: $144,631.00 to $180,789.00

Job Summary

This position will be a key member of a 24/7 mission critical Balance of Plant (BOP) Services/Operations team. Working under the guidance of the Director of BOP Services, the position will be responsible for supervising the HV Specialists, all day-to-day operational related BOP activities, providing technical support and managing maintenance activities for Avangrid Renewables solar and wind projects.

Key Responsibilities

Manage activities and priorities of the HV Specialists including providing guidance and having the ability to dispatch available resources to address BOP related events on a 24/7 basis to ensure plants are returned to service in a safe and timely manner.

Manage the maintenance program to ensure all wind and solar projects are properly maintained and compliant with NERC regulations.

Manage the high voltage committee by coordinating routine meetings with vested stakeholders and tracking the outstanding action items.

Manage the development and implementation of BOP related procedures and programs to ensure safe working environment for all employees.

Provide technical expertise and support of New Construction Projects through design review, construction, commissioning and turnover documents. Provide the Construction team with BOP related input so that these gets updated into the various construction related standards/specifications.

Support the utilization of external professionals who provide technical expertise and project support.

Actively participate on the Electrical Safety Committee and assist EHS for QEW related training.

Provide feedback to internal and external stakeholders by identifying efficiencies/improvements in project quality, reliability, costs, and schedule that enhances the Company's strategic initiatives.

Participate in staffing and selection process for team positions.

Perform performance evaluations and any disciplinary related activities.

Coach and develop team members Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering and/or operations of renewable energy facilities. Or equivalent experience with other electric generation and /or high voltage systems (substation and collector systems) up to 345kV. Effective oral and written communication

Demonstrated experience managing team members preferably including those based remotely

Extensive experience in troubleshooting and remediating faults in electrical power systems.

Ability to manage multiple, concurrent, time-sensitive projects and priorities.

Ability to read, interpret and edit schematics, electrical one/three-line diagrams and wiring diagrams.

Self-motivated to work in a productive and effective manner while travelling and working in remote locations distanced from direct supervision.

Good comprehension and understanding of regulatory standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, etc).

Required travel is approximately 30%. Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Substation commissioning and testing experience. This includes the ability to test protective relays, transformers, circuit breakers, bushings, and other relevant substation equipment.

Knowledge of electric utility design and utility maintenance programs. Competencies
