Health Care Assistant

Contract With A Local Authority

Job Purpose:

To provide compassionate, high-quality personal care and support to a female service user during a single shift. The role requires a professional, respectful approach that promotes the dignity, independence, and well-being of the individual.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with personal care tasks including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.

Support with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment if needed.

Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration.

Provide companionship and emotional support throughout the shift.

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the client’s immediate environment.

Monitor and record any changes in the client’s condition, reporting concerns promptly.

Adhere to the care plan and instructions provided by the care manager or family.

Requirements:

Female – This role is restricted to female applicants only due to the personal care needs of the client, in line with the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, Paragraph 1).

Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant or similar role.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Respect for confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Compassionate, reliable, and patient.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
