General Supervisor, Strategic Sourcing

Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Sourcing, you will be part of the Supply Chain department. Your primary responsibility will be to implement the Strategic Sourcing strategy at the category level. This role includes managing the entire contract lifecycle for all suppliers, ensuring that costs and risks are minimized through analyzing categories, defining sourcing strategies, conducting tenders, negotiating and implementing contracts and governing suppliers. You will be responsible for achieving objectives while promoting and upholding Agnico Eagle’s values, the health and safety code of conduct, and environmental standards.

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for various categories.

Analyze categories to identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.

Conduct tenders and negotiate contracts with suppliers.

Oversee the implementation and governance of supplier contracts.

Collaborate closely with stakeholders at each mine, as well as regional and corporate personnel, and Inuit and First Nations communities.

Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Monitor supplier performance and address any issues that arise.

Be a subject matter expert as it relates to complex contracts and supplier relationship.

Bachelor’s degree or University level education in one of following areas (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Law, Engineering.

A procurement certification (CSCP, CPP, CMA or CPSM) is an asset.

Experience in an industrial setting or heavy industry (mining experience is an asset).

Experience in negotiating and implementing contracts.

Cultural awareness and experiencing working with Indigenous communities.

Must have strong interpersonal, communication and team building skills.

Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Strong ability to effectively communicate in English and French (Oral and written) is an asset.

Your Work Schedule

Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2-4-3 schedule or 5-2 depending local policy and may change to suit business needs.

Workplace: A combination of remote work and on-site work at our offices in Val-d’Or, Timmins, Kirkland Lake offices, as per Company’s policies.

Travel to Sites, other Agnico offices, and Suppliers up to 50%
