About the Role
We're seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our remote team. You'll play a key role in delivering accurate, high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. This is a hands-on role involving tax compliance, financial statement preparation, and collaboration with both internal staff and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review financial statements in line with Australian accounting standards.
Prepare income tax returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS) for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs.
Process year-end financials for various entity types.
Assist with payroll services in Xero.
Support the development of tax planning strategies and analysis.
Handle ATO correspondence and client queries.
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian tax laws and standards.
Work collaboratively with internal team members to meet deadlines.
Stay current with changes in Australian tax laws and accounting standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in Australian public accounting
Proficient in Xero (required)
Experience with BGL360 (preferred)
Knowledge of SMSF (preferred, but not required)
Strong understanding of Australian tax regulations
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
