Clinical Laboratory Assistant

Texas Health Alliance's Laboratory department is looking for a top skilled Clinical Laboratory Assistant. Work location: Texas Health Alliance, 10864 Texas Health Trail, Fort Worth, TX 76244. Work hours: Full-Time; Day Shift; 32 Hours (Sun-Wed, 0400-1230). Here's What You Need:

Qualifications

Education: H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required, Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required.

Experience: 6 Months experience as a phlebotomist or Completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy preferred.

Licenses and Certifications: PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician Upon Hire Preferred.

What You Will Do:

For those entities performing phlebotomy; employee follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient.

Follows laboratory procedures for handling, and processing in a manner which is appropriate and follows safety guidelines.

Follows laboratory procedures for handling unacceptable specimens.

Follows established laboratory test procedures.

Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity.

Reports and evaluates test results.

Facilitates workflow process.

Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care.

Processes specimens.

Demonstrates ability to perform specimen processing protocols.

Participates in orientation and training of students, volunteers, new employees, and observers.

Maintains commitment to profession by attending continuing education sessions. (ex. Web seminars, ASCP seminars, Tarleton and Lab sponsored seminars by industry).

Quality control guidelines are followed.

Quality control and equipment maintenance.

Incorporates safety/infection control measures into work practices.
