Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our award-winning team based in Amman, Jordan.

This critical role will work as part of the Infrastructure team, leading the design and delivery of advanced mechanical systems for infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with international and local codes, while providing technical expertise across multidisciplinary teams.

We envisage success in this role to include:

Leading the design of complex mechanical systems for infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on pumping stations for wastewater, stormwater, potable water, and firefighting systems.

Specializing in the selection and design of pumps (centrifugal, turbine, borehole column), addressing hydraulic performance, NPSH, and operational efficiency.

Designing wastewater treatment solutions, from packaged units to medium-capacity treatment plants, incorporating MBBR, MBR, activated sludge, and SBR systems.

Preparing detailed designs for equipment including blowers, scrubbers, grit and grease removal units, mechanical screens, mixers, odor control systems, and sludge treatment equipment.

Developing comprehensive designs for chlorination dosing systems (gas and liquid), ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

Designing strategic water reservoirs, addressing all mechanical components, piping networks, appurtenances, and fittings.

Coordinating with civil, structural, and electrical teams to ensure integration of site layouts, pump chambers, reservoir structures, and service buildings.

Conducting detailed reviews of mechanical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and installation plans to ensure constructability and reliability.

Liaising with vendors and suppliers for technical evaluations, equipment selection, and procurement support.

Preparing technical reports, calculations, feasibility studies, and scopes of work across all project stages.

Supporting site activities including condition assessments, installation supervision, testing, commissioning, and handover.

Providing technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and fostering knowledge-sharing across teams.

Ensuring all designs comply with local authority codes and GCC regulatory standards.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and more than 10 years of experience in a similar position. Having a Masters Degree or a membership of a professional institution is desirable.

Furthermore, you should demonstrate:

Proven experience in the design of mechanical systems for wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of international codes and authority requirements in GCC countries.

Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination and client engagements.

Solid written and verbal communication skills in English.
