Job Description
SUMMARY
The Sr. Director of Quality is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control functions across all manufacturing operations. This role ensures that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with industry standards and regulations. The Sr. Director of Quality leads the development and implementation of quality strategies, policies, and procedures to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, and Customer teams, the Sr. Director of Quality drives enterprise-wide quality initiatives, ensures compliance with global standards, and embeds a culture of continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle—from development to warranty.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the global quality strategy aligned with operational and business goals
Oversee quality systems, audits (e.g., IATF 16949), and compliance across all manufacturing and engineering sites
Collaborate with divisional leadership to implement best practices in quality planning, risk mitigation, and root cause analysis
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma, Lean, and other methodologies
Represent the company in customer quality forums and manage escalated quality issues
Lead and mentor a global team of quality professionals, fostering talent development and succession planning
Monitor and report on key quality metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability
Partner cross functionally to ensure quality is embedded in new product development and launches
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Experience
15+ years of progressive experience in quality and operations leadership roles, preferably in automotive or electronics manufacturing
Proven track record of leading large, cross-functional teams and implementing global quality systems
Deep knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Six Sigma, Lean and other core quality tools and methodologies
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Experience with digital quality systems and data analytics
Demonstrated success in cultural transformation and change management
Experience working in matrixed, multinational environments
Strong technical understanding of automotive OEM quality standards
Proven success in customer-facing quality leadership roles
Travel
Up to 50% travel to company sites, suppliers, and customers, and internal global locations
