Description/Synopsys:
The Finance Manager will provide strategic and operational finance support to the Sales and Marketing division. Reporting to the CFO and Group Sales Exec, this role is critical in driving profitability, managing budgets, and supporting export operations. The successful candidate will partner closely with sales and marketing teams, providing financial insights and analysis to guide decision-making and growth strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
CA(SA) / CIMA / BCom Accounting with articles
5–7 years post-articles financial management experience
Strong background in agriculture, forestry, or commodity manufacturing
Solid understanding of exports and international trade
Proven experience in sales analysis, profitability, and budget control
Strong systems knowledge (ERP; D365 advantageous)
Willingness to travel regularly between national sites.
Responsibilities:
Provide financial support to sales and marketing teams through detailed analysis of sales and profitability
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
Oversee costing of products, margins, and sales trends across depots and operations
Partner with sales on export contracts and identify opportunities for savings and margin growth
Support strategy, pricing, and new business initiatives through scenario and financial modelling
Ensure effective inventory and cost management in depots and log yards
Manage ERP finance modules, ensuring accuracy and process improvements
Lead and mentor finance staff, driving accountability and performance
