The Intercultural English Language Programs (IELP) invites applications for a Lecturer position to provide English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to adult corporate learners from Korea. This position involves in-person instruction, curriculum development, and learner support.
Position Summary:
The Lecturer will teach English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) to adult employees of a Korean company. Instruction is delivered through a combination of in-person one-on-one and group sessions at the client’s site in Southwestern Ohio, as well as asynchronous online components delivered via Canvas and other virtual platforms. The Lecturer will also contribute to curriculum development and collaborate with the IELP team. Typical in-person teaching hours are between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM (Eastern Time).
Primary Duties:
Provide ESL instruction in one-on-one and small group settings
Design, develop, and maintain curriculum and instructional materials
Collaborate with teaching and administrative team members
Monitor and report student progress and achievement
Participate in program meetings and contribute to special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Multilingual Language Education, or a closely related field
High proficiency in English with the ability to teach English for Occupational Purposes
Experience teaching adult ESL/EFL learners
Experience developing curriculum for English language instruction
Strong knowledge of pedagogical grammar and English language mechanics
Proficiency with educational technologies for language teaching
Familiarity with learning management systems, preferably Canvas
Evidence of excellent teaching
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Korean language and/or Korean professional contexts
Experience teaching in a corporate or professional setting
Instructional design experience
Evidence of ongoing professional engagement in TESOL
