The student assistant is a temporary student position. Qualified candidates are often enrolled or anticipating enrollment in the School of Allied Medical Professions in either the physical or occupational therapy curriculums. The student assistant can help the office staff coordinator in their duties and assist the therapist when needed. This position also serves as the patient greeter and answers the phones at the home site. Other duties include scheduling new patients at the site where assigned, and providing other office duties as needed.
Position Summary
The student assistant assists in duties relating to the routine operation of the rehabilitation department, including departmental cleanliness, maintenance, clerical and non-patient care tasks. This position may also provide cross coverage of the Rehabilitation Division’s other locations/sites. This position reports to the Director of MSK Rehab or designee and operates under the supervision of the therapist or staff member assigned each day. Minimum Qualifications
Required-High School - diploma or equivalent; knowledge of basic medical terminology, computer skills; good organizational and communication skills required.
Preferred - currently actively enrolled in a pre- Allied Medical field (PT/OT/SLP). Previous reception or customer service experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
Maintain a good work record, and adhere to Ohio State University Medical Center’s Policies and Procedures and vision/ values. Meets annual health and training requirements.
