Laundry Team Leader

About the Role:

The Team Leader Laundry at South Central Hospital plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and hygienic processing of all hospital linens and garments. This position is responsible for overseeing daily laundry operations, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Team Leader will coordinate and motivate a team of laundry staff to meet operational targets while fostering a positive and productive work environment. They will also manage inventory control, equipment maintenance, and liaise with other hospital departments to support overall patient care services. Ultimately, this role ensures that all laundry services contribute to the hospital’s commitment to providing a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a laundry or similar operational environment.

Basic knowledge of laundry equipment and chemical handling.

Understanding of health and safety regulations related to laundry operations.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in laundry management or related field preferred.

Experience working in a healthcare laundry setting.

First aid and safety training certifications.

Familiarity with inventory management software.

Leadership training or courses.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the laundry team to ensure timely and efficient processing of linens and uniforms.

Implement and monitor adherence to hygiene and safety standards in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Manage inventory of laundry supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance to avoid operational disruptions.

Train, mentor, and evaluate laundry staff performance, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with hospital departments to understand their laundry needs and resolve any service-related issues promptly.
