Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated lead mammographer to join our breast center team. This position is under the general direction of the area manager, regional director, and radiologist. She will work directly with practice staff, and various members of the Onsite Women’s Health organization as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess a well-balanced skill set that allows for successful interaction with a diverse range of professionals and patients and is responsible for performing high-quality mammographic imaging. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills and will be responsible for overseeing and supporting day-to-day operations at the breast center. She will be responsible for compliance with regulatory standards with a thorough knowledge of MQSA protocols and ACR requirements. She will demonstrate experience in team leadership and staff development, and will collaborate with the area manager, regional director and radiologist to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate must have experience as a mammographer in a fast-paced environment, be dependable, self-motivated, and able to problem-solve quickly. She must also be able to manage conflicting priorities efficiently under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

· Mammography Services: Perform screening and diagnostic imaging, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care. Practice radiation safety techniques by using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills and ALARA principles. Assist with additional imaging procedures such as stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies.

· Leadership & Team Support: Provide guidance, mentorship and training to breast center staff. Monitor team productivity and provide performance assessments, constructive feedback, and disciplinary action when necessary.

· Compliance & Quality Assurance: Alongside the area manager, ensure adherence to FDA/MQSA, ACR and State Regulations for mammography. Maintain accurate documentation, assist with audits and oversee quality control processes.

· Workflow & Scheduling: Monitor daily operations to optimize efficiency, minimize patient wait times and ensure proper staffing coverage.

· Collaboration: Work closely with area Manager, regional director and radiologist to maintain seamless communication and a high standard of patient care.

· Patient Experience: Ensure a compassionate and professional environment, addressing patient concerns and maintaining high patient satisfaction.

· Continuing Education & Training: Stay current with industry advancements, guidelines and certifications. Assist in training new hires and implementing updated protocols.

· Performs other related duties as assigned to support business needs and organizational goals.

Education & Minimum Qualifications Required:

· ARRT required

· Advanced certification in Mammography required

· Minimum of 5 years practical experience

· Must maintain CME’s as required by State and/or National accreditation bodies

· Leadership and supervisory abilities, including conflict resolution and performance management

Physical Requirements:

· The duties described above will require frequent standing and walking. The employee will frequently bend/stoop, twist and turn.

· May require occasional extended hours or flexibility to meet patient and operational needs.

Hazards:

•Works with low dose radiation utilizing proper shielding. Works with electrical equipment and will have close contact with patients and may come into contact with blood or body fluids
